fly rod reel seat?

just purchased a fly rod and reel,the foot part on the reel doesn't seem to go in very far at the upper part of the handle?is this normal on fly rods?seems solid but i am use to the reel seat on my baitcaster or spinning rod you know and the foot part on the reel goes in more?tell me what you think.

This is the case on a few of my fly rods. I also thought that it was strange at first but have never had a problem. I do check for tightness periodically.

I have the same issue with one of the fly rods I got at a store closing sale, its a pretty decent setup worth around $200. I was wondering if I might have gotten a reel that wasnt supposed to go with the rod I purchased.
