I finally got the opprotunity to get out and try out some still water fly fishing for bass/panfish.
After arriving at my spot, a secluded boat launch, I decided to try out the usual shore casting methods, wacky worms and hardbaits with no success. Time for the fly. I tied on several different flies with no luck, before deciding to go to the old trout standby, a beadhead hares ear nymph, after about 5 casts and letting it settle to bottom before stripping in some more line, success, little sunfish. Managed to get 3 of these little guys, and a perch before calling it a day when the ramp got too busy. Fun morning with pans!
