well if it wasn't damaged he would have to be semi-retarded to give it away at that price... take it man ...

What's the weight of the rod?

considering they retail for $500+ i'd take it and run, check it carefully for damage before purchasing though
I think loomis warranty will replace the rod if it blows up. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I know a guy who bought a used GLX, snap it over his knee in order to get a brand new one.

im not sure on how the warranty works on loomis rods, would assume its the same as everywhere else, if theres a manufacturing defect, or breaks while under normal use......

if you purchase a new glx , gl2 , nrx you get a wildcard. one time no questions asked over the counter replacement. After that it comes down to how the rod broke.

NRX are owned by Gary Loomis where as Loomis rods are owned by Shimano and therefore the warranties are separate.

What? Were did this come from? Gary has nothing to do with GLoomis or Shimano.

As I said Gary sold his G.Lloomis brand of rods to Shimano who how are in charge of warranties for rods such as GLX. Gary then started a new line of rods under the name North Fork Compoosites (NFC). So I did screw up as I confused NFC with NRX.

And this is why rod companies no longer do warranty replacements free of charge!
