You want to hear something DISGUSTING:

.17 cents??? wow

1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liters
=0.0449 cents a liter?
~5cents a liter

If gas was 5 cents a liter, I could do so much more.

wow.... 5 cents... i can only imagine.

current gas prices make me glad I got a cheap ol' civic with standard transmission. Makes a notable difference.
i used to drive an automatic heavy mitsubishi eclipse, and was not satisfied with the gas efficiency, even though it was only a 2.4L 4 cyl.

there can be many reasons for the increase in gas price.

usually gas is in demand in the summer months, so that probably contributes to it. it can also be for economic gain for many countries like Canada and the US, as well as competition between gas distributors. usually gas stations tend to mark their own prices, but since many try to gain as much profit as possible, the other stations tend to raise their prices as well in order to compete. also, i believe that most of the money we use to buy gas goes to the government for funding, such as funding their private operations.

Or, if you beleive that there is only a 2% profit margin:

yeah.. lets boycott the gas pumps and not buy gas until the prices go down . there's really nothing we can do about the increasing gas price.

idesign, yes that's from Petro Canada.

The idea of a gas boycott has been floated many times in the past. The idea in theory is to pick one gas station, say "Shell" and everyone avoids "Shell", causing Shell to lower their prices... then when everyone flocks to Shell to take advantage of the lower price, the other gas stations must lower their price to compete.

The general concensus is that it won't work...

wouldn't it be awesome if the 'free gas for a year' contests come back at this time??

too bad that's not going to happen any time soon >.>

Here's an idea, places like Iraq 17 cents/gallon, Kuwait 20 cents/gallon, Saudi arabia 15 cents/gallon & Venezula 5 cents/gallon. We get millions of investors from north america(so many of us so the oil corps can't kill us all) form gas companies and build refineries in those countries or simply buy and ship it here it will be less then half the price, and we build our own gas stations. if it costs wal mart pennies to ship stuff from china how much could it be to ship oil from those countries?

i.e if we had millions of investors we are already paying $500-$1000/year more in gas anyway, so lets say we have 10 million ppl interested investing $500 each thats already $5 billion to get started. the average person uses 2400 liters/year we buy 24000000000 liters @ 30 cents a gallon = is only $1.9 billion, if you buy 24000000000 liters @ $1 its $24 billion.

Wow some one & the government is really making money......

man they have this contest 365 days a year.but not seen any1 winning.entered couple times but nothing.i think it is just scam to make people buy gas from them

I expected the price of gas to go up. I bought a boat for the year, so naturally the prices have to go up!!
