These sound like common sense things to do to extend your mileage. Is there anything more to it?

Screw! the Hybrids.

Buy a Diesel. Instant torque + nearly double the KM.

Maybe a few other small things, timing light changes etc... Pretty much common sense but I'm sure you notice most drivers dont do any of it. I taught my wife some of these tricks now I change her brakes every 45-50k instead of 30k. so its also helps with wear & tear she also went from 12L/100 to 10L/100. of course it took a while.......

Of course I try to hypermill without being annoying to other drivers and will rather speed up faster then slower if someone is behind me. I don't do 50 in an 80, usually 90 in a 80;)

I really wonder how much of difference it makes going 120km on the highway compared to doing 100km?

General rule is add 5-10%(wind condition, areodynamics of car) gas comsumption every 10kph over 100kph

Obviously the type of car makes a difference, but I would find it hard to believe that by driving at 100km, I'm going to get an extra 40km out a tank of gas ( assuming that I usually get 400km per tank and usually drive at 120km).

I get an extra 60kms/tank slowing down from 125-130kph to 100-115kph just started doing it in the last 2 weeks. Easy to do on the 407, 401 might not be able to keep that speed for long.

Ya being light footed helps huge. And if your mechanically inclined change your spark plugs, wires, and fuel/air filter. I did and my car runs so much better and I get a lot more milage for my piece of $@%^ car, a 94 Grand Am, booooooo!,lol 6 cylinder.........

Depends if its work related or fishing:) work=slow, fish=drive even faster.

OPP almost got me doing 110kph in an 80 good thing he was alone and caught the guy a km or so in front of me first.

When I'm on the highway, and a few cars go past, I usually follow about a km behind so I don't get caught.

Thats exactly what I've always done, I use the ppl who pass as markers. The only speeding tickets I've ever got where in those speed traps near 50kph zones where the cops hide just waiting for you.
