Just like to compliment the users/mods/creators of this forum. It seems like it is a top notch community of fishos.

I grew up in Hamilton, ON, and gotten into fishing in my early 20's. It is a great way to spend the day, and as most would agree, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.
Currently, me and my wife live in Sydney Australia. We moved here 4 years ago so that my wife could complete her Veterinary degree. Since we have intentions of moving back next year, I am researching places to live that have good fishing.

On a more inquisitive note, are there many people in Ontario that fish from kayaks? When we left, it was not a popular sport. Here in Sydney, it has become very popular. I normally fish from my kayak and use it to head offshore into the deep blue chasing Kingfish, Snapper, Bonito and other pelagics. One thing that I have learned from fishing in saltwater is that there are many things in the ocean that are bigger than you.

Anyways, I look forward to talking to others and re-learning the art of freshwater fishing.

Welcome to the forum. Better late then never, I've never been in a kayak and yeah it is trying to become popular from what I see in the tv fishing shows. Remember when float tubes use to be the way to go? Then it turned to inflatable pontoons, neither would be good for you in the ocean......lol. Enjoy the forum.

G'day mate. What's on the barbie today?
Hamilton has lots of vets so you may have to go where there is a demand.
On a positive note that demand is probably close to good fishing.
Kayak fishing is becoming very popular around the world. Canada is lagging behind. Could be the cold water.
See my website at www.OntarioFishingKayaks.com for a solution.

When I am not shore fishing I am out on the NuCanoe Frontier, such a great fishing boat!

Welcome mate! :)
I totally agree about the bad day of fishing being better than the good day at work that being said work will however determine where you live & how you play to a great extent.
I like to fish from a aluminum canoe my self as I can get more stuff into it, get in out of it easier and it is maintenance free.
Using a small cooler as a seat and a kayak paddle I can place my rod in my ram tube and fish solo or with a partner. I've also drilled holes along the gunwhales at one foot intervals so that I can use caribeaners to fasten my packs down as well this system along with a canoe carrier serves me quite well.
