This past Saturday we were fishing at the mouth of the Credit river, I was suprised to find there were Gobies in the river...... Does anyone know how long this has been going on.

They are super agressive, they would bite onto the worm, not even hooked and I was able to bring em onto shore and toss em in the bushes. We did watch on for 26minutes out of water and was still "breathing" I lightly poked it with a stick, plenty of fight left in him.

Port Credit, aside from Gobies and 1-2 carp there wasnt much happening. Used Worm, carp corn and yarn.

Since the river is connected to Lake O, they've probably been in the river for the past couple years. I heard somewhere that they were first found in the Great Lakes in 1992, and became widespread by the 2000's. I've caught them in Lake Huron, Lake Ontario, and Lake Erie and a bunch of they're tribs...so ya they're pretty widespread. And ya they live a long time out of water best thing to do is just smack it over the head with a rock so it doesn't have a chance of getting back into the water.

LOL!

There were people around I didnt want to have people think I was bring unnesesarily cruel, all though thats what I instinctively wanted to do.

I opted to toss em in the brush behind us. One was left out to see how long it would be before it died. Its insane how agressive they are and how long they can be out of water, in sand I might add.
