So during the weekend at the cottage was watching bunch of fishing tv shows, n the one i think i should mention n bring up is Going Fishing with Darryl Charonzy. So this episode was from Florida Keys, Most of his shows are done from Ontario waters from I understand so if you've seen this episode you should know it.

So I forget what they were fishing for, and than what this fish was, but there not allowed it bring it out of the water because of laws. And apparently it can get up tot he size of 500LBS, 500 lbs, like OMG! They eat the reef rock, and they were almost distinct before and that's why they put the law on not even allowing them out of the water. They caught one that figured was about 150lbs, and it was almost as big as Darryl,lol...I was just like HOLY CRAPPERS!! I was just curious if anyone has seen this episode, or seen this fish in general? Who be awesome if someone has.

lol..

Never saw that episode, and I try to keep up with all the Cronzy shows, was it that prehistoric looking fish ? with big scales, here's a pic below of what I'm talking about:

Maybe it was something different. Mega sea-bass ?

i'm pretty sure that the pic of the fish there is one of a type of fish that was thought to be extinct for almost a century

I dont remember ever being extinct but was very close to being, and thats why there not allowed to be brought out of the water anymore. Cause what use to happen, is that fishers would have those nets that had these hooks or something like that at the bottom and they would catch them n drag them n kill them.

the pic that snypa put up is of a coelocanth! most prehistoric fish to be alive!

just look at that body structure and limb-like finnage! so awesome looking!

if they really did catch one on the show, I would be sure there would be crazy media coverage as these are still pretty rare and hard to find.
i'm thinking they actually caught something like a grouper on the show.

isn't it dangerous to even bring the coelocanth to the surface as the pressure change is too much for it

Than i guess it wasn't that fish. It looked a lot like it. Really need to find out what one it was.

I've emailed going fishing t.v. and asked them.

You will too, lol. I also have no job right now, but interview tonight..:?

anyways, Darryl Choronzey emailed me back this morning. here is the email:

it's called a jew fish or a goliath grouper. they are not going extinct anymore, in fact their population is expanding. they're just protected at this time. in fact their population is begining to boom again

cronzy

so here's a couple imgs

depending how long ago that episode was filmed, n unless the law has changed they shouldnt of brought it out of the water
