Got my first boat finally, its nothing special, an old 11 foot springbok flat bottom aluminum jon boat. Its only rated for 3 hp and 430 pounds but for the price I cant complain, im sure me and my fishing buddies will have a blast with it for years to come no matter how fast we are going or how much gear we have with us haha

I'm only kidding, I don't recomend going into such cold water with a small boat that you've never tested before, if it's rated for 430lbs that's pretty much you a buddy and some gear so I wonder how low it would sit in the water :?:

yea inno the weight rating kinda sucks, it looks like i might have to loose a few pounds this winter if I wanna be able to fish with another person and my motor! haha

3hp...ss “super slow” lol. Just kidding. Congrats. I hear they are good to use in some rivers, probably good for most reservoirs too.

A boat like that has advantages over some larger ones, you can pull it down a bank when its a charge to use the launch or into small body's of water with no launch. 4.5 will push it good! What's the weight of it? We have a 12' "car topper" aluminum that's only around 75 or so pounds. Me and my brother pulled it into lots of small spec lakes. Plus I know people who use 12 footers downrigging in g bay for salmon so you can take it on some larger water if you wanted to.
