So tonight my brother and I went up to the cottage for a weekend of fishing. Our first weekend of fishing really this entire year because he has been studying for his MCATs. Well we got up to the lake around 5 and jumped in the boat at the marina to head to the cottage... battery was dead haha. The bilge pump is stuck on in our boat and drained the battery completely. After sending our dad into town for a new battery while we babysat the dog and drank beers we finally made it to the cottage and jumped in the fishing boat and head right out to the water. We decided to fish a few of our favourite spots and we hooked into a few nice largies.
here is a pic of the biggest one caught by me
another view of the same fish
here is another big one, not as big as the first however that we caught after we chased a few beavers around the bay with the trolling motor (we only wanted to see them smack their tails dont worry we werent trying to hit them)
Sorry that the above picture is a little bit grainy but all we had was a camera phone!.. Later in the night we went out again and my brother caught a bass that was almost identical to my second bass and we DID have a scale this time. It weighed in at 3 pounds 9 ounces. My question for you people is if my brothers fish was 3 and 9 and similar to my second fish, what do you think the first guy weighed? We both held them and estimated the first one at around 5 pounds (which is a monster up here and a personal best for me).
PS- caught on big jitterbugs, in shallow water with woody cover
