Yes sir they are, went to the local shop yesterday and asked their fly guy for some help. He generally hits the credit for steelhead, and helped me out a lot! stayed within my budget and he showed me how to tie some glow bug patters quickly and effectively. He set me up with a !0' 7wt - St.C , said it is plenty, backing, two leaders, and tippet he threw in for free. The reel is an Okuma Helios H78a. very light weight, aluminum. Waterproof drag system as well, as I'm sure most are.

Get some cheap fly line and get out to the park to practice your casting technique
