Today I went to visit High Park and fished the Grenadier Pond. I got there @ 1:30 and the weather was sunny until it started to shower. There was a mix of both sun and rain but I managed to catch a lot of hand size sunfishes using shrimp.

Around 6:00 it was sunny again and I used a small float with a split shot and a #8 hook with a berkley white berkley trout worm. I caught about a dozen perches and a few small baby LM bass.

Around 8:30, I used a rapala floater f7 and I hooked up a white perch. Here is the picture...I hooked it bad with all 3 points of the treble hook and it took me about 4 minutes to get it out with plyers.

Today was a nice day for fishing despite the few showers. I can't wait for bass season to open on saturday!

There are LM bass in Grenadier Pond. I've seen them spawn along the shores a couple of weeks ago. Biggest one Ive seen caught was probably 6lbs. HOG!

Here is a picture of the OOS LM bass I caught a few weeks ago.

Here's a list of species I've caught or hoping to catch.

[x] Sunfishes
[x] Bullhead
[x] LM Bass
[x] White Perch
[x] Black Crappie
[x] Yellow Perch
[ ] Pike
[ ] Carp
[ ] Rock Bass
[ ] Brook Trout (I've seen someone catch it with a fly fishing rod. I'm not sure if brook trout can be found in ponds)

I know that lure may seem like a bass lure. But I would never purposely target bass. This lure can catch all kinds of species.

grt.thx Anatzz for the report. From next time, can you post the report in report section
thx

It's up to the user to post where ever they wish.

Besides this pond is known too well and there is nothing secret about it.

last time i remember openfire talking about posting reports in reports section only.I think if we have all reports in 1 place it would be much better and organized. If users start to post reports some here and some there then it would be difficult to go through in future.Thx

This is a tough pond to target any particular species, They all see everything, you can catch anything on anything in this pond, it is soo small and lotsa people throwing lotsa different things...bass perch crappie, they will all bite anything in this pond. Thats my own view anyways. I bet you could throw out a hook with nothing on it and get a fish eventually.

P.s. I also think reports should only go in report sections, with smaller posts about the trip maybe in General fishing...that wouldn`t be so bad.

P.S.S thanks for the report.
