Hi Guys, I've been really busy recently and haven't had time to post anything. I did manage to get two fishing trips out this year with some decent catches.
Aug 1st long weekend
The first place i went was a weekend in the Haliburton area to a small lake called Ted's lake. This lake was a beauty, clear crisp water completely surrounded by trees. No motor boats on this small secluded lake. Gravel bottom that drops really quickly from shore. I would say this small lake was roughly 15 feet out near the middle. Tons of fallen lumber. From canoe we caught tons (in the hundreds) of fat Rock bass and lots of small SMB. the biggest was maybe 1lb but there were tons of them. I also caught a nice LMB around1.5 to 2 lbs(no scale). Also there were absolutely no other fishermen on this lake for the 3 days i was there which probably meant the fish prob haven't seen a tube before. the last day I decided to paddle out on canoe to the next connecting lake of about the same size but totally different environment. here the water was shallow and very weedy the perfect feeding grounds for LMB. I could see lots of fry so i knew there were larger fish here somewhere. wasn't long before landing a LMB over 2lbs.then after that it was non stop action for roughyl 2 hours and there were LMB mixed with SMB all in the same area! all in the 2lb range. What a day! except i didnt' have my camera on the canoe so no pictures for that day.
Here's a link to the exact location of the lake. You have to view satellite to see the lake.

I will definately be going back to this area next year.

My second visit was to Buckhorn Lake Aug 31st
Arrived at Chemong Lake at 7:30 and launched with my uncle in his 17' Starcraft deep V and boated to Buckhorn lake. Fished everywhere always moving around looking for fish. took a short lunch break and was back at it until 5pm.
First of the day for me. No need to tell you what i used as it is clearly in the picture.

Second one was caught on a all white tandem spinner with twin tail white grub trailer.

This beast was caught on a chartreuse spinner with chartreuse twin tail trailer.

Around 11am we saw another boat 30' from us tossing huge baits and we knew they were looking for musky. Funny thing was my uncle using a Berkley craw imitation hooked into a nice musky. needless to say he didn't land the fish on his bass setup with only 8lb mono line. But before he lost him the musky did show us a very nice aerial. Who would have thought the musky would go after a plastic craw instead of the other baits. We're going back for musky next time with the right gear and prob to the same spot.
