I bought it. The set for Canadian customers is a bit different due to restrictions on what they can send here (something to do with natural fibers) and it will cost a bit more than the advertised price. Other than that the fly quality was great and I am happy with the purchase.

Thanks JD.

I noticed that part when I selected Canada.

And how much more of a price difference are we talking about?

Just the exchange rate or are their hidden fees that they don't mention?

If I remember correctly it came to around $25 give or take a couple dollars. Its ok but when you think about what you use and need, you could get a good selection at Sail or from Cristopher (YETI Fish) for around the same price and have it tailored more to your requirements

Ya and that's why I said you can probably get a selection better suited to your needs locally

You might want to check out the reel flies and look at there bulk section. I use there flies and they are top notch. Plus they are Canadian so prices are in Canadian funds also the always have 10-15% off offers.

Even at $25, it's still not a bad deal. Obviously not good compared to their $9.99 they talk to but the buggers are $2.50 each let's say if you buy 'em at Wilson's so they add up.

Now, if you go via the reelflies.ca route, wolly buggers are like $0.85.

Chris is always an awesome option. His ties are superb as well. Got my first few sets from him because really i had no idea what to buy so it went like this "Chris, i need some flies".. and he made some and i've used and caught fish on all of them lol.

Good selection, thanks for posting the link.

As per Orvis $9.95 box, I think it's still a good deal, but I'm not sure if $25 is the actual final price ... it really ought to be much lower.

Just looked at my receipt and with exchange rate it came to 21.65 which is what I said (25 +/- a couple bucks) and remember that selection is not what you will get in Canada. It is different it is a good price for 20 flies but al depends on if the selection will work for you

That's strange. I just received mine and made the call to mastercard 1-800 # and got a transaction amount of $12.57 confirmed. Did you get charged for something else other than the flies themselves ?

edit, here's a couple of snapshots of whats in the Canadian fly version of the box. sorry for the potato camera quality:

in the end it's a fairly cheap booster pack

Ya that's the pack I got. Can't explain difference in price but if you got it that cheap it makes it all the better

honestly bud in my experience youd do better to just buy a couple of what you need at this time of year..
its a great pack for opener but half the stuff in there wont see any use for a while/
its a good pack though for sure and worth the price

I might practice this fall run with my cheap ebay flies and look into higher quality flies for opener.

I would just hate to lose and snag a good quality fly at the moment.

Thanks for everyone's feedback

I've had good results from the eBay ones. Hares ear.. Caddis... Prince nymphs. Not a bad way to build up the initial box just to get used to things.
