Well, now that life has figured itself out I went up to Heart Lake with family members for some BBQ. When I got there, realized I had a small Lake that I could try out for smallmouth! I had my gear with me in the back seat, as always. Sadly, left my jig box in my moms car.
So now I was left to fish me some panfish to fry on the BBQ!

Bought some worms and here are the results.

Was fishing from 11:30 'till 8pm closing.
Weather was cloudy until 2pm then was sunny the remainder. Slight winds SE.
-4'8" Ugly Stik ultralight
-Pflueger Supreme 8025MG ultralight OMG this reel is soooooo smooth! super-dooper-easy casting.
-2lb Berkley Vanish flouro
-good 'ol reliable worm

For the most part caught plenty small Sunfish, Rock Bass, a couple tiny smallmouth.

There were many people going after Rainbow Trout, with some success.
I was given a small rainbow, tasted good despite it's size!

The guy in the pic is my 'lil bro, and thats his first ever fish he'd caught. Look at the smile on his face. Over a 3" smallmouth, lol.

All in all was a fun day, since I finally got my brother to try out fishing and he loved it. Now I have someone to split gas with! lol

Hopefully this gets me into the Reports Forums, and with that knowledge at had, you can expect much greater reports!

Oh, look! a 50lb Turtle! Heard they taste good...

Nice...sounds like a fun day...I havent been to Heart lake fishing since I was a child. Wow what memories.

If you ever have the chance, I recommend renting a row boat and trying your luck. There are lots of big bass in that lake. I've rented a boat and nailed decent bass all day long there a few years back.
