Hello everyone!

I'm new here and I live in the stoney creek area. I'm getting reading for beginning of bass season. I'm a noob so I don't know much. My biggest concern is that I almost NEVER catch fish. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Another thing, any advice on water clarity and bait choice would also be very helpful. I've heard that green pumpkin, natural colours are very popular but my main focus is crank baits. I have and white shad: dives about 8-10 feet, a rapala shad rap: about 6cm long and is a natural beige or brown colour and a green-brown crank bait. I'm wondering what water clarity to use these lures in and just what colour soft plastics I should use in different clarity of water. Again I'm a noob so if you have any advice please share!😄👍

Thanks everyone,

Stoney Creek eh?
You are on the edge of a great Bass river, 20 mins. Never been skunked.
Personally I do live bait so I can catch all spieces. White jigs or grubs work well tho.
I am in Hamilton. PM if you wish and we can talk further.

Alfie.

^^ Alfie is right that river is jam packed full of bass..and if you spend some time figuring it out, I can guarantee you'll almost always catch something. The key to the river is using soft plastic tubes

You might want to check this forum out: www.niagarafishing.net the is a lot of info on the Niagara River and guys there are very willing to help out new guys. It would help if you had access to a boat it opens up so much more on that river both lower and upper.

Thanks everyone, For all your help!!

@Alfie- Could your please tell me what this river is called and the general location of it. If possible that would be great!!

Again Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it as i spend hours fishing and get skunked EVERY time. Hopefully this new river will give me some success!

I thought that was the one you and Alfie where talking about. But the one I mentioned is home to monster smallies. Erie is also famous for its monster smallies. Just thought the OP might like a few different choices. :)

Lol. Yes I was talking about the Grand as being 20 mins away. Lots of Bass and other fish too, along its entire length.
Am also aware of the Niagara as a great fishery a little further. Matter of fact, I caught my 2 biggest ever Lakers, my PB ' eye and my PB Brown between Oct and Dec last year. Can't complain about that. All from shore. Have yet to find the Bass, but never fished there before last fall so I will keep looking this year and hope for anuther PB.
As for Erie, yes, that would be where my PB Bass came from and some other hawgs too. But I don't often have access to a boat :(
