I was actually deciding between the quantum tour and the curado before i bought mine but went with shimano in the end. i would imagine the quantum to be similar in performance. in the end its up to personal performance. i wish i had lots of buddies with different reels so i could try them before settling, but I'm happy with shimano. very smooth and sturdy.

btw Hyperfox you can find some nice deals on ebay. i got mine BNIB for $170 total after shipping when BPS was selling it for $249 before taxes when it was first released.

Lol. Id love a setup like that guys, but I dont have that kind of money to play with. 2 kids. Wife. Pets. Van payments.. Sucks the wallet dry.

I know what you mean I have a 7 month old daughter.

You know what, BPS has the citica on the BPS extreme rod combo for 109 after rebates. I picked up one of those. I haven't used it yet this year but i've been testing it out in the yard and it seems like a decent reel. I love the rod too. But the rebate expires on April 30th so you better hurry. but don't expect it to be like the curado. cause its not lol.

I bought a BPS extreme reel a few years ago it only lasted me a year before it started to fall apart. I don't know how they are now but other than falling apart it was a good reel fairly smooth when new good adjustments and centrifugal cast adjustment.

If you keep it real clean it will probably last a while.

Anyone else have that real?

I bought that reel earlier this year because it was on sale and it came with a free rod. But i brought it home and fiddled with it then returned it. It just didn't seem sturdy. Picked up the citica combo instead with the refund.
But i haven't actually tried it out on the waters.

I think your better off buying a major brand fishing reel like Shimano than one of the BPS reels because I don't trust the quality in their reels.

I think allot of the thigs bass pro sells are of cheap quality although there are allot of great products they do sell.

Has anyone tried the digital control reels from shimano?
