Went to one of my favoutire spots on The Grand in (do not mention exact location). Great cover for some Bass used a Mepps Aglia Ultra Lite Dressed love that lure. First cast pulled this out, little smallie, very healhly looking fish. And several casts later pulled out some more..

Only stayed for 30 mins cause it started to thunder and lightining, fishing rod and lighting dont really mix. Lol

Nice fish, was out at the lower grand last night and pulled out 2 that size on plastic grubs..tougher fishing cuz of the higher water levels

nice bass, did you get any word of salmon hitting the grand yet ?
I don't think there is salmon that run this far up the grand. Yet don't know much about salmon.

Water level was normal, water was clear not brown. I wanna get some waders and fish that way. People say its the best way to fish rivers.

Really? I found that the lower grand last night was higher than usual..last night I was fishing from shore but I regularily fish with waders wen theres not as much current

Yes sir. If you look at the water in the pictures. Its pretty much normal. But yeah gotta go to Bass Pro and get some waders. And maybe pick up a fly rod and get into that as well..

Even go to canadian tire..they have some waders there for around 100 that will last you a couple years..not the best but they'll get the job done

Yeah. Really want to get some now. Going to go back to that spot again tomorrow or to the speed river where it goes under the 401. Hopefully I get something more bigger.

guys--has everyone read the rules of engagement here? these rivers are hallowed ground man --we are telling the world wheren to go and why to go there, when we get there there will be worm boxed and timmys cups everywhere....NO NAMING RIVERS FOR ANY REASON!!!!!

You can always wet wade in old shoes until you have some money for the waders. Then get hippers, then get proper felt boot-foot breathable chesties.

And yeah I plan to do some wading tomorrow. My hikers have GoreTex and will work good. And I have some rain pants I'm gonna wear as well. So I'm not entirely wet. I'm kinda nervous for snapping turtles though lol.

lol don't think about what could be in the water when your in there just go once you start catching fish you'll forget all about it and if your not very familiar with the spot bringing a stick to feel for sudden drops is probably a good idea the water is at a decent level and the current can be quite strong but as long as you take your time you'll be fine. I usually just wear shorts and some old running shoes if I don't have waders handy. I find I tend to stay up on the shallower rock sholes when I do this as I tend to start thinking about all the big things ive seen come out of the river and the teeth

Afraid of a turtle? I don't care how big they are, no threat to a human unless you're picking a fight with them.

Muskies are what I think about... but they won't attack a guy standing in a river... dangling your feet off a dock maybe different story, seen that before.

Ok remy. I believe the naming of rivers regs are mostly for the Tribs that hold Chrome and Salmon. The Grand gets no Salmon. And it is early for Chrome.
The Grand is well known by everyone, everywhere. It is very good for warm-water species at this time of year. It has hundreds of miles of fishable water. The white-bucket brigade knows it well.
How picky do you want to get on this, should people stop naming Lake Simcoe, or Rice Lake or Bay of Quinte? Lake O, GB or Huron?

Alfie.

The Grand is a warm water trib and does not support a Salmon run. Occassionally you may find one at the mouth.
