same rules apply, the dirtier the water, the bigger the fly
^100% this

id also add the during chocolate milk conditions the darker colors produce best for me, rain or shine

Dont ignore shallower water then you'd normally fish, also if the rivers are up and dirty you may find more fish hold in the eddies closer to the bank.

Use bulky patterns. Them being long is not as important as them being wide! Your looking displace water and have them pick up the fly with their lateral line. Fish are normally closer to the surface so use lighter sink tips. Fish are also much closer to the shore so fish the slack water you normally wade in first

Basically you can fish extremely dirty water and still pick up a few fish on flies

A tip is to use big bulky black conehead sculpin patterns. Dark purple is great as well. Reduced sunlight really mutes bright colours

Agree dirty water, go to larger flies, in black, also have had good success with purple wollies in dirty water. I have also found that brown stone flies seemed to work in the area I fish when the water is dirty( strange but if it works!!! ).

Another fly I have had some recent success with in dirty water is a Tan San Juan worm.
