How long after a big rain storm?

So yesterday and today look like giving us the biggest rain storm we have had so far this fall. I'm guessing that the water levels will be up and carrying a lot of colour in the next day or two. Whats the general consensus on how long to wait before fishing creeks and rivers again...24, 48, 72 hrs?

I had planned to set aside Sunday for fishing....

24 - 48, if the water still looks like chodolate milk, wait it out, if the waters a green/ blue colour, fish on!!!

i also have sunday from fishing, but the spot i planed to fish will be alomost 6 feet higher now with the rains.. (very long river many tribs) there fore the water levels will be higher longer.72 hrs..

Creeks will clear up much faster, 24 hrs or so, i hope,....
but ones thing is forsure, the rains have brought in many more fish... along with the mud..lol
i best geuss is to take a look at the water levels.

find the staions on ur river and see what the water levels are doing...

the charts make it easy to determine if water levels are droping fast, slow or going up, which will mean clearing waters or muddy waters.
it has worked for me..

It all depends

For creeks that were ultra low already, Like Bronte, May clear up quicker than they normally would.

That being said, I drove over it this morning and its mud lol.

I think I might switch to fishing the harbour or one of the big lakes on Sunday instead. It looks as if Sunday will be a cold one to start with too.

ive been surprised more than once this season with how fast the river I have fished has cleared up. Im thinking some rivers will be fishable saturday and others that take longer to clear will be good on sunday. Im thinking that the river I fish would even be potentially cleared up by tomorrow afternoon.

I don't know how long its gonna take to clear up, but I'm still gonna try my luck this weekend...

This year a couple of times I've gone out and expected the levels to be WAY HIGHER and they were not!
Couldnt figure it out for the life of me.

and as an example: The Humber usually stays dirty like 5X longer than anyother trib, but this year it seems to be clearing up way faster than normal.

However, those who rely on REPORTS & CONDITIONS (Gin Clear) really should just STAY HOME and wait.
Its much better to see & hear about other's fish than getting your own.
