let us know how it goes.thx

i didn't get a chance to fish Fairy lake but i did goto another spot in huntsville.
I spoke to the locals there and was told i had a better chance to fish in Hunter's Bay. I even got a map to the spots. There is a free boat launch there and even free parking and a couple of docks in addition to the large shore where you can fish. I will post pictures i took of the area when i get a chance and the map.

i didn't catch any pike but the locals there told me there was a pike derby the weekend before, maybe they caught them all. and one guy there said that same morning he caught some large bass although no in season yet.

I fish that spot all the time. Even better yet, is if you walk the path toward the highway another 10 mins, you will come out to a floating dock that stretches across the bay. Its about 350 ft long, and the water depth in the middle is around 15 ft deep, and you can easily cast to the shoreline, or turn around and fish the deep water. If you hit it @ the end of july, beginning of august, its LOADED with vegetation. the bottom is made up of sand up shallow, and substrate / mud in the depths. Lots of sunken logs and cover down there. Ive caught 5 lb largemouth and giant pike out of that spot every year for the past 5 years.

If you would rather drive to it, turn off main street right there @ discount car rentals, and drive down the road 20 seconds. Cross the train tracks and park. Walk that path for 30 seconds, and you are there :D

Cool do you know of any boat launches with a dock in the area?

Yes. Right where he said he went the first time, there is a launch.

Also one right next to the high school. Another one off of ravenscliffe ( muskoka rd 2), on hutchinson beach rd.
