I will make modified version of these lures with feathered hooks etc lol why not

This just made me want to go buy Beer...Guess I'll stock up during lunch time;)

lol, that was so funny, whats next a flattened pepsi can for musky...

Pretty neat. I am always making stuff out of beer cans at the cottage when I'm bored. I have used cans to make a motorcycle, plane, car and a Formula 1 race car. Will post some pics after the weekend. They are in the boathouse to give me inspiration to drink more.....LMAO

As for those lures, would love to see the action on them and see if they actually work. Look like they might have good action when retrieved or trolled.

Dirk..

Good luck with it. Would love to know first hand about what action this beer bottle lid gives.

well, i made one of these on wednesday before i went up to my cottage, i tried it out and there is no action when going slow, and faster speeds take it out of the water unless you use some sort of weight, but then it's action is great, i caught about a million perch on it, and just in case you're wondering i used a moosehead cap with a single hook

nice that you already tried it bala! Can you show us a picture of how you made it?

ok, i'll take a picture later tonight and try to post it, basically i just punched a hole at each end of the bent cap, put a split ring and hook at one end and tied it to my line with the other hole

Yeah they definitely need some weight inside the cap you can use loose tungsten weight BB's that way you may also get some rattling sounds out of that bait. I am also thinking about using a feathered treble hook to add some more flash to the bait.

the feather hook looks amazing in the water ! i saw it on my xrap yesterday and it looks really like a tail!

the only problem was that only carp were interested in my xrap yesterday...and i was unable to land it and ripped its mouth apart probably.

Finally remembered to snap some pics of my BEER CAN ART......

Enjoy.............

Dirk............

awesome stuff dirk! Is that what the terrible weather did to you lately?

No, those are from a couple of years ago. Have opted for bottled beer of late, it's cheaper.

Haven't done much fishing lately because of the weather and other commitments. Busy this weekend for the bass opener to. Will try to get out next week and then the following weekend.

Dirk..............
