I'm still working on a few things here, so I would like your feedback to help determine what to change...

What do you like/dislike about the new site? Do you want a feature added, something changed?

Feedback appreciated.

Not Bad, nice Forum, The top banner for Ontario Fishing Forums, reduice that to aq 728*90 far to big.

The main page: http://www.ontariofishingforums.com/ Thats need an update, I'd change that to more of a welcome page, Same friggin pix for a year now.

Need a new menu,

Honestly some of the Icons for http://www.ontariofishingforums.com/forum/ arn't related very well and I wouldn't accept them for my company. I think we can do better here!

I'm also thinking we should add section bassed on fish species?

Anyways you asked so there are my thoughts on the newish site!

Hey Yawn, thank you for the input!

The top banner is a work in progress. I can't really change the overall width because the forum itself is a fixed width. I may reduce the width of our logo and reserve the remaining width for ad space, not sure yet. As for the height of the banner, I may well reduce it.

As for your comment about the main page, you are right on the money! I will be removing that page all together very soon. I will either have the forum as the main page or make a custom portal to match the forum style... But what you see there now will be gone.

Hmmm a section based on fish species... That's not a bad idea. It's actually an idea that I was playing around with a while back. It came down to either splitting the sections based on geographic location OR fish species. - Anyone else care to comment on this idea?

Can you elaborae a little more about the menu and icons?

I am guessing openfire tested the new forum with IE ?
Because it does not display properly with Firefox, Opera, Safari.

Yup, IE.

I'm looking into fixing the firefox bug.

Hmmm.... Instead of a FLOWER...

I would like our own unique LOGO please.

Logo with design that is very urban alike? close to home? local feel? Since that is how originally our forum god started, right?

I agree about the logo. I'm all for the trilium, but something more fish related would be a lot cooler.

Also, the rainbow trout background looks great, but I think it would be very neat to see it change once in a while. Like, the skin of walleye, crappie, bass, pike, etc.... maybe this was the original plan anyways?

Awesome idea frozenfire. :D

There is a modification that I can make to have the banner randomly change on each page load (allowing a different fish skin background), but we would lose another key feature of the board in the process - the image auto re-size. Style vs. Functionality. I can however change the top banner manually from time to time without losing the image auto re-size, but it would be sporadic ie... when I get around to it. I will look into finding a work-around to see if there is a way to get the randomly rotating banner without losing the image auto-resize feature. I really like your idea frozenfire.

About the trillium flower; I agree with MikeyMikey and frozenfire. The logo is something that needs work. Logos are tough. I'm not an artist by any stretch... Any ideas will be welcomed.

Hi everyone,

New web site looks really nice. Since you asked about feedback on the new site, just to mention what came to my attention. For instance, now is March 16 , 10:15 Pm. While I could see that some of the previous posts are dated already as March 17. It is not a big deal, but it seems there is some discrepancy between actual posting time and the time assigned to a post.

Sorry , I am not trying to double post about this, just to better explain what I meant. For instance, I posted my post from above on March 16 @ 10: 17 PM, while the time actually assigned to my post is 17 Mar 2008 02:17.

Like I said, it is not a big deal, but I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

im new so i havent seen the old one, but i'm a member of probably 10 diffrent forums, and this one is pretty good. I personally like the pop-up style IM's better, but thats just my opinion. And im glad there isnt 300 diffrent "smiles" to choose from like some forums

looks like a good site, you guys have been very helpful so far, looks like alot of good info and a bunch of good guys.
