I am going for ice fishing on Simcoe for the first time. The hut operator provides the "tackle" so I was wondering what else I am going to need, the "must have" ones, since I may go this only one time this year and do not want to spend too much
Thanks,

light /ultralight rods with 1/32-1/64th jigheads or iceflies coupled with tiny minnows on 4lb test...always been a winning combo for us for panfish. If the hut operator is supplying the tackle and bait i would think you shouldnt need anything to catch the fish! ;)

Probably Wanna Just Make Sure You Have Ice Fishing Rods.

Just Pick Up Some Hooks And Some Assorted Split Shots ( In Case He Just Hands You A Bucket Of Minows And Nothing Else )

You Can Always Pick Up Those Combo Kits That Comes With Rods and Tackle As Well.

And A Aqua Vu Under Water Camera........ Just Kidding.

Anyways Have Fun,

A sonar/flasher would be a great advantage for crappies as they can be suspended anywhere in the water column...but i bet you dont want to spend the cash on one of those.
For a couple of decent cheaper entry level rods that'll last a couple of seasons look at berkley lightning 2 pack combo. Comes with an ultralight rod/reel and a light action rod rod/reel and a spool of both 4 and 6lb test lines for $39 at walmart. Often they go on sale for $19 which i when i buy a set every year. :)

Most hut operator's supply the bait and that's it. It would be best to call ahead and ask what their "tackle" entails. But a nice lil trick for pan fish is to use walleye blades, drill a second hole at the base of the blade, run about 10 inchs to a foot of fluro leader off of it, hook a minnow on the end and BAM! fish on haha. It uses the same principal as a flasher plate when down rigging. Also when it comes to reel's, having one with an infinite reverse is a must, cause the ones that don't let the rotor spin in reverse until it hits the lock, resulting in a weak hookset or lost fish. Either way, have fun!
