Hi Everyone.

My name is Daniel, and I am with a Sport Rental company that recently started renting ice fishing gear (by the day, or for a weekend/week) Our ice fishing rental fleet would include: snowmobiles, rods, huts, shelters, heaters, cots, gas powered and hand augers, flashers, sleds, ice tip-ups, ice suits, and much more.
I am not revealing the company name in a hope that my post is not going to be marked as spam. I am simply here to better understand what fellow fisherman might consider renting, as well as under what conditions, etc..

Any input would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for reading.

Cool sounds like you got all the gear available. Now you just have to offer a discount for OFF members....lol. ;) If I was interested in ice fishing I would consider PM-ing you for your location. Do you have daily ice conditions on the lake that you're on? I'm curious as for the prices for a hut and a gas auger for a day.

Welcome to the forum.

What about hooks, weights, jigs, live bait, leaders...because if someone is going to be renting a rod, chances are they have no tackle with them.

Seems like a good option for those who would like to rent but don't want to necessarily go where the renter has their huts set up.

Hi Grubman,

Thanks for replying!

Well, we are actaully not on a lake. The idea behind our company is that you are able to take the equipment anywhere you want, for as long as you want. Not just for ice fishing, but for everything we carry (from power sports, to recreational equipment)

For example the Ice augers are $49 for the day, $69 for the weekend, and $99 for a full week (Rapala, Eskimo, Jiffy)

I will gladly offer exclusive discounts to members of this forum.

Thanks,

How much for the snowmobile? Can I tow it with a 1000lb towing capacity?lol

Skidoo rental starts at $199 for a full day (24 hours) that includes a trailer, insurance, helmets, and a trail pass. 1000lb towing capacity might be enough if the snowmobile trailer is super light (under 400lb)

Well it seems like you offer everything! So not sure what info I could provide to help your business but it seems like a very cool idea. Best of luck.

If I notice anything this year that others seem to be lacking on the ice I will pass it along to you.

i would hate to see your liability insurance---sounds good though--can i rent a sled just for kicks? like no ice fishing involved>

Thank you! What do you think about the prices?

Those are great finders. The snowmobile rate was higher than I was expecting but I guess they probably arent old junker snowmobiles. Do you have a website where we can view the full price list?

Our oldest sled is 2009... As to the prices, unfortunately the insurance is a huge factor. We give an all inclusive price though (includes: Trailer, trail pass, helmets, and insurance coverage) We also try to motivate consumers to book early, to soften the price. For example any bookings for January would include 20% off. We will do all possible to bring them down next year.

We are relatively a new company, so any feedback from outdoor enthusiasts is great.
