Was fortunate to witness this branch fall as it succumbed to the ice.

Saw lots of lightening like flashes today, which I suspect are being caused by falling power lines.

Also heard more trees falling, they give off a hell of a bang!

In my area there are a bunch of fallen limbs covered in about 1 or 2 CM of ice, power surges every few minutes, and the sky flashes blue and green for some reason. it is a mess out there. be careful and try staying indoors!

Holy f#(*!

I was standing on the sidewalk, when I started hearing the telltale creaking of a tree limb beginning to separate.

I ran like hell towards cover.

Not a minute later, the shrieking sound of a tree splitting evoked a fear in me that was realized seconds later by the thunderous clasp of a big maple tree landing square on top of my dad's van. I was standing only a few feet away

Epic storm!

we just got our power back! here in guelph! its a mess out there! be safe and no outdoor activities! meaning no fishing! til its safe!

Yeah, the sky was flashing blue/green, that was weird. I saw a transformer across the street blow up around 10pm...it was awesome. Woke up about 4-5 times during the night because the power surges made so much noise.

I love storms! gonna get some wicked pics

Lost about 7 large branches from my favorite maple, neighbours tree fell on my shed and dented it, witnessed many large branches falling in the neighbourhood, one took four of us to drag to the curb. Seen something cool while walking near the river with my 10 year old daughter, a red tailed hawk killed a squirrel not 20 feet from us then left the squirrel on the path when it seen us. Snagged a handful of fur from the tail for some flies, bonus.

Everything seemed ok to me till I noticed I cracked my windshield right by my wiper why chipping off the inch of ice that built up on my car. Looks to be about 5in across right now maybe I can get it fixed before is spreads

The ice is still in the trees, and tomorrow is going to be a lot colder and windier than today.

Yikes!

the sky wasn't actually flashing blue/green that was happening from the transformers and as they blew they were sending out sparks and massive surges through the wires. My area has like 3cm of ice on everything, you could have a hockey game on my driveway (tested by me lol) its crazy, the plows aren't doing anything and they don't even salt down the roads

Too late to help River55, but 1 way to remove ice is to use a pan/pail of warm( 'hottish') water and a cloth to loosen it up and make scraping easier
what we do is run the car for 10 minutes and leave all the vents to the windshield and then just spray with washer fluid and its all good to go. oh ya my place had 2 massive surges and theres a transformer literally right out my bedroom window. YIKES. after about 5 mins my power came back but my wifi, tv and phone didn't work and still isn't
