You know I don't want to pay bass pro shops an arm and a leg for tackle. And I hate to buy cheap items from ebay and amazon. Any good websites to get fishing tackle cheap?

I found this site via facebook.

http://www.fishingtacklefollower.com/

However; I am not sure whether it is a legal site.

Pls give me some advice. Thank you

seems legit however the last anti virus check on it was in november, thats the only thing i can see thats wrong with it

All looks dollar store quality to me, I'm sure it's legit, but I doubt the quality is there, go to sail instead of BPS.

ebay has expensive stuff for cheaper--you just gotta look--all transactions are controlled and monitored-its safer than it has ever been i buy most of my crap from ebay.

I disagree with the comments about the stuff being dollar store crap. What that site basically is, is a whole saler for no name stuff. You ma recogonize a few of their items which have been rebranded. VMC hooks on the crankbaits, there must be some quality there. My 2c

A lot of the reels are daiwa by the looks of it but they May be b grade or nockoffs by the price !! 90$ for a 150$ internet wholesaler reel seems to god to be true but they may be lagit

My question is along the lines of "How can you tell the players w/o a program'? i.e. you don't have the brand names and their reputations as a guide for buying a reel, for e.g. How an you tell if it's a good deal or not?

you can order from cabelas online, it is cheaper, but comes from west so shipping is not cheap. i am sure coupons pop up all the tme. also never buy anything from the border, the freight tax plus shipping is a lot more expensive than if you bought it from canadian stores.

you have to look at the pics of the product for brand and model( in the hopes that that's what your getting )and search online to compare with other sites but they aren't giving the model names so it could be a bait and switch !! I would go with a well known site and pay a little more for security

I know every one loves to save some cash.... but how about just going to your local store ( I am not talking about BP, Sail...etc..etc.. ) I am talking about your local "mom and pop" shop. Buy a few things from them, to keep your local business's going. Plus you might also be surprised at the customer service you recieve at these kind of shops and the friendly relationships that can be established this way.

Just my 2 cents. But it is your money and you can do what you want, i just like seeing the small guys getting a piece of the pie.

Cheers.

My cousin owns Kingsway in Guelph and it's the only place I get my fishing tackle !!

I have purchased a few tackle online...from trusted sites like centerpinangling.com fishbums, haven't bought from fishheads but my friends do and they are legit. if you're on the fence. do more research...the only people who can tell you it's legit or not is the ones who had bought from them before. I'm still old school and rather I give you the $$$...you give me the tackle....end of transaction!(saying this in my best Mitch Hedberg voice)

My bet is the linked site is in China, based on the grammar used. They don't say where they are. I might purchase something from them that I don't have to feel - like plastic lures or maybe a reel. Otherwise I would consider the extra $$ spent at a local shop an investment in quality, security and the community.
I have purchased a few small camping items at DX.com, communication and delivery has been excellent - but I stick to 'hardware' like camp stove, flint & steel and buffs.
My belief is that many of the items are the same as we see on the retail shelves (you can particularly recognize fly reels), but these wholesale items are made on the 12-8 AM shift and not stamped or packaged with 'Names'. No advertising, no packaging, no middleman (or 2 or 3) and you get the item for the price that a recognized company gets it when they order 5,000. The only problem is you don't know that for sure when you are only looking at an image on your screen.
