Is using a rubber meshed net Safer

Close but that looks like its the mesh netting not the rubber
If you scroll down you see this *Attachment 1* and this lets you choose what type of netting you want.

Cradles aren't used much on the rivers most anglers tail the fish with a tailing glove, then remove the hook , and release the fish. On any pier they would be useless unless you could walk the fish back to the beach. For pier fishing you need a long handled net with a large hoop and soft mesh if you plan on releasing the fish.

To answer your question. -Yes, it is safer.
I personally use a landing net 95% of the time, while out on my local tribs. It allows me to land, unhook and take a quick pic of the fish, without having to physically touch it.

Correct a cradle would be the safest way of handling a big fish... @ reasons I could think about would be the fact that it holds the fish in a horizontal position supporting the entire fish plus it limits the amount of trashing the fish can perform. Added bonus is most people that use cradles don’t tend to take the fish out the water.. J

FYI guys … Frabill has some nets are a fine mesh cloth type material similar to the cradle’s material.

This material is the same as the nets used by hobbyist in aquariums all around the world. I think it maybe even safer than the rubber… Thought are welcome on this..
