welcome to OFF bud
Ty ty heheheh. Actually im a woman, spent 1 hr at FB, not much, bunch of gobies and a couple nice size perch. Btw, it doesnt say you cant use bait from home, are you allowed to use ur own bait? Like say shrimp? A man was using shrimp from d market as bait. I found that hard to believe, but it actually worked.

if your in scarborough then try hitting the bluffs in the fall for trout and salmon and the spring for pike, I've heard theres carp and bass there but I'm not too sure

Using shrimp is fine. What kind of fish would you like to target?
well crappie season is over, but dats one of em. Any fish from shore, other than suns n gobies. Decent size perch and anything bigger. So cut bait is allowed? Even sunfish? Cut up pieces of small fish??

Just about any bait is allowed, but there are some species of fish that you cannot use as bait. Check the regs here: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsFish/Publication/STEL02_163615.html

Then figure out which 'zone' you are in my looking at the map, then click the PDF file for your zone. Here you can find what baitfish species are permitted. But shrimp is fine to use. Doesn't matter if you fish your bait dead or alive, cut up or whole, just use a bait you're allowed to use.

I would suggest trying different spots since you're new. Then pick a few that you like, or just narrow down your search my picking 1-3 different species that you'd like to target.

Woot woot - old Scarborough native here too (Malvern area). Just moved to Pickering - boy what a difference LOL

As mentioned try out Scarb Bluffs, Frenchmans Bay, Duffins creek, and even Twynn Rivers.

I used to keep a quick portable twig in the trunk of my car and every time I'd pass through an area, I would park it and cast a few just to see LOL
