After leaving the house around 5pm on Friday afternoon, I was battling traffic and when I got to Oshawa, I screamed **** and realized the baits I restocked on were still in my garage. I was pissed but continued on my journey. Could have used them as I ran out and had to go with other colours and sizes. Still effective though.
I looked back at pics from last years Labour Day long weekend and the first thing I noticed was that the weather was very similar, overcast, rain and wind. The second thing I noticed was that I only have a pic of one small bass from that entire weekend. Either I didn't fish, or in a year I have become a better angler, whatever the case when I compare it to this weekend, it was much better then last years.
Saturday I did the usual early AM outing and after about 2 hours on the water I managed maybe close to 10 or 12 bass. Nothing huge, mostly dinks but a few decent sized ones.
Saturday at midnight after I woke from a fog on the couch I saw a sweet light show as the lightning was amazing. Followed by rain and thunder.
Sunday morning I was up early and ready to go before sunrise but the water was quite rough. Some big swells and I waited to go out then it rained a bit. I finally made it out at 7:30 and the water and wind were unbearable so after about an hour I headed back in after landing only 1 bass. Quite frustratring, thank you mother nature.
Monday morning up at the crack of dawn again and fished for a couple of hours. Wind picked up and managed about 15 bass. Mostly dinks a few average sized ones.
I spent time fooling around with my new HD camera and managed to get several other catches and losses on video. A great weekend considering the conditons and lack of time on the water.
