Lake fishing from shore?

scugog is just pressured too much and its even more difficult from the shore. I think catching "many" bass from shore is a rare event, if you ht a schol of bass right at shore, that happens perhaps once every 5 years. Not a bad fishery, but do not be dissapointed if you come home empty handed (well, you can always catch panfish with little effort).

Some friends and I tried it 3 weeks ago, and with 4 people, fishing from shore (tried 4 so called "hot spots"), we eneded up having on ebass only. Tried every lure and bait, wormed was the scucessful one.

I've been using gulp baits, rapala, to worms. I spent about $100 in new lures an soft baits. I believe my set up is fine My problem is finding places to fish from shore an catch big fish.
My boys wanna step up the game from gobies an sunfish to bass. Lol

haha garfield you make me smile ^^;

my setup is pretty simple I just have braid mainline with a flurocarbon leader connected with a swivel. I tie an egg sinker above the swivel and use a #6 hook. The most important thing i think is keeping your line tight so you can feel the slight taps, a sensitive rod is key for this too.

I am headed to Scugog tomorrow morning. If you are looking for a cheap boat, walmart has a really good deal right now. They are selling the intex seahawk 4 for just $100. The good thing about this inflatable boat is unlike other boats the material is 30 Gauge PVC and very puncture resistant.

I m lookin to buy a small boat or canoe. But everyone is over my budget. Lol.

I filled up at the CT gas station today and they are handing out coupons for a 2 person inflatable boat. Original price is $24.99, coupon price is $9.99, until July 28th, while quantities last. I have no idea if it's actually something you can fish out of or if it's just meant as a toy to paddle around in circles in. If I went out fishing in something cheap/inflatable, I'd make sure to feel comfortable swimming to shore at all times and I wouldn't bring too much expensive tackle aboard.

But a canoe or yak is probably more suitable.
