Well Chris and myself met up with Brian and Schmogley today on joe, we started at around 160 fow, then me and Chris decided to go closer to shore. As soon as we got the hut up, we had one fish each and were releasing all the fish, because we wanted something bigger. After at least 2 hours of good consistent action, i put on a williams gold spoon and it went uphill from there. Got 2 keepers in 15 minutes that were pulling drag like crazy! After Chris seeing how well the spoon worked for me, he decided he wanted tog I've it a shot too. He put on a silver spoon adnwe had a double header in 10 minutes, had a CO check us as well, nice to see them circling around the lake. I had a great time on the ice, so many fish iced that i lost count, mostly fish in the 1-2 pound range but tons of fun nonetheless! here are a couple pics for now, will post a couple more ounce i get to the cleaning process! Schwiiing! Would have joined you guys but I figured this was cancelled.

Was the surface slushy?

I was up in the Highlands again, no slush, very comfortable dry conditions.
 
nope, no slush a bit of snow made it a little tough to pull the slur but overall not too bad, lots of fish all throughout the day, really slowed down towards the evening though, we lost what might've been a couple ling but who knows, did you get any up there salmo?
 
I started off in 14 fow, didn't mark a thing, moved to 47 fow for the last hour and also marked zilch. I got about 3hrs on the ice today, with more time I think I would have found them.
 
ya, you wanna try to get as deep as you can on those little lakes for lakers at least, joe is probably my favourite spot for both quantity and quality, while there are a ton of little guys some monsters can be had as well, I'm sure if we put the time into going deep and jigging big spoons we could've gotten a bigger one but its more fun i find when they bite so well and you can actually get your limit, lol.
 
hey was a good day! good to see you guys out there
it was slow start for me personally. a few hits but no hookups, untill brian showed me the wonders of sonar then it got interesting..
but i did end up landing my first ever laker it was small but hey i cant complain was a blast.
seems like everyone was making a mess in the morning. pure fish comming out. all small but good eating size. no monsters that i seen though maybe all under 6lbs
slowed down till about 3pm then there was another little rush. thats when i caught my first one and had a second huge hit that bent my hvy rod like it was an ultra light but it spit the hook almost immediately :(

glad more people showed up and thank god brian had a hut cuz that wind started to get frigid after noon lol

surprised you guys ran into a co out there.
 
ya, he came around just after you guys left, it was on fire until 2 for us, i lost a line peeler a couple times on a gold williams spoon and the hook bent over, lol, then we got a few more fish and it was dead around 4 then i got one more and nothing, had a few hits, probably ling but missed them, wind was insane. I don't even know if we would've gotten anything without the hut, i came out to get a fish on the set line outside and was un-freezing in the hut for the next half hour but the bite sure was on until noon!
 
wish i could of came out, but I had firewood to do, did stop by and seen Brain on shore ( I was picking up a buddy from the ice) he and 2 others walked across to the far side. 2hour hike so they said, 3 slush patches knee deep not good mid lake
 
wow, we didn't go that far, lol, we were like 50-100 metres off shore, right beside the house with the open water and fountain in the backyard, was basically on fire until around 3.
 
ya i know Brain told me yous where out there just off the cottage. 40 yards off the bubbler in 90 foot of water.give or take
 
It was a great time out; my best day of the season so far. Great scenery, not to many people around, everyone was friendly, and there was fish to be caught.
It was cold in the morning, but the wind was non-existent and the sun was shining; warming us up. There was no need for a hut, but that changed after lunch. There were a few down times, but fishing was good for most of the day.
I took a few steps in when I got there in the morning, drilled a hole and couldn't believe I was already at 167 feet. But i still iced one there, and lost another. Moved shallower to just under 90 feet and iced a couple more before calling it a day.

Liger thanks once again for hooking us up, and I'm happy to see you're feeling better.

yes thank you Liger for the spot!! I knew a few spots where we would get into fish but for it to be non-stop for 4 hours straight and nice fish too and only 50 metres off shore!! You are a kind man!! :)
 
Good report and nice catch. Those double digit days are sure a confidence boost
