Hey,

I'm usually excited about posting my fishing trips... but this one is not great.

took my GF fishing to lake simcoe. we didn't know where we were going to fish or where we were going to launch, but we figured we'd find somehwere to launch around jackson's point, found a spot called Bonnie's boats, launch fee was 10$. paid that, no problem, then I found out there was a 30$ parking fee as well :( .... that's sucked, but oh well, we were there..

fished from 8:30ish to about 1:30, I cought 2, 1/2 pound smallies, that's it. not even worth taking a picture. my GF got skunked..

we fished some rocky/sandy spots ranging from 5 to 10 ft deep...didn't really find any good weedbeds to fish.

oh well, it was a nice day for a boat ride and a picnic on the water...I guess...

Slimy, dont give up on Simcoe.
One of the best smallie factories out there! Not to mention Lakers;whities, big pike ....the odd walleye too!

$40 just to launch and park is pretty steep. Sounds like thery where taking advantage. I went to Eugenia last Sunday and its a public launch but grey county was there charging $10 to launch. When we came back in the guy was no longer there charging ppl. I would of thought it was a scam(he gave a me a grey county reciept) if he wasn't hanging out with 2 opp officers. They must of had a nice breakfast that morning.

I was at Lake Simcoe's Beaverton.People were launching boat for free until around 9am the office opened.Go early and launch boat for free.

Is Euginia off of lake SImcoe, I mapquested it and it gave me a different spot alltogether.. anyways, I thought it was pretty steep too, it was so much per hour or 30$... and +10 to launch. The launch was nice and deep though.

I think next time I may go out of Beaverton where I design went.. or maybe Euginia.. wherever that is...

I figured I had watched enough fishing shows where they were fishing for smallies on Simcoe to be able to find some fish on Simcoe, but I guess I was wrong.. I even had a fish finder... lol

would I be better off fishing right in Cook's bay?

There are a number of marinas in Cooks bay where you can launch your boat with maybe a better price.

Maybe I'll just go in Cook's bay next time...we'll see.

Let us know if you find a cheaper launch with dock, & park.

Maybe we should setup an OFF deal with a marina for a discounted price for the boaters of OFF?

For sure ! That would be sweet,

I'll let you guys know if I go back, Right now though I'm torn between going to Cooks bay from a keswick launch... or going to Thora Island from Beaverton. Any advice?
