Lazy Carp

LOL that is a nice mirror carp pic......steelheaders need to take a look at how carp anglers treat their catch IMO most use mats and soft landing nets, how many steelheaders do you see just flipping trout onto a muddy bank??? they are showing their ""coarse fish" more respect than we do to migratories. i leave a lot of hooks in fish but somehow feel this is better than handling them.

First of all nice carp.

Second, WTF is a lazy boy doing out there? You hauled that thing there?......lol.

Third, you couldn't open up the chair so the tired carp can rest it's tail on the leg rest........LOL.

Great catch dood. Do you eat them or release?

EDIT: Forth, and lastly, all he needs is a beer, tv remote and the latest edition of Playcarp.....lol.

1st Thanks

2nd No I did not. Some jerk dumped it and a couch there. But like the saying goes " When given lemons make lemonaid" I figured I'd use it for a little humour.

3rd The leg rest is extended. I just need to catch a 30 so it will be big enough to need all the chair.

Playcarp lol.

Awesome catches. What a place to leave some chairs. That's right and postive make lemonaide!!!
What gear you use to catch them with? Carp is one of those love them or hate them fish. I'd give them a shot if I have the right (heavy) gear.

I've caught carp on medium spinning gear... baby carp, that is! :D

My only carp was also on medium. It was only a 6 lb carp from scugog but it could have been alot bigger. Not sure if medium with a fast tip can handle a 20 or 30 lb carp.

The river by my house grub, is litterd with big carp. I manage to bring them in with my 6'6 medium action on 8bs siglon(I put that **** on everything). They put a nice bend in the rod, and after a couple good runs they usualy give up. Caught fish pushin' 20lbs on this set up. But I must say I've had big lake carp on the same setup and trying to stop them and turn them was virtualy immpossible.

A standard spinning outfit will do you to start off with. Simplest bait is canned corn on the hook. One thing to be careful about. Carp have the habit of taking off at full speed when they first feel the hook bite. If you don't take precautions they will pull your outfit in to the water. This happens all the time. I see it every year.
