Yeah I've heard of that happening. I'll chain my rod down....lol. Thanks for the tips.

You could just back your drag off so that the carp cannot pull the rod in. Them pick up the rod and apply pressure to the side skirt of the spool with your finger . Then tighten the drag.

i cant wait for the warmer weather to come back for the carp-us!! here in cambridge we have some of the best rivers for carp!!! i have seen many 30 +lbs'ers in the spring to fall..

I have the proper gear for carp with bait runner and so on and I had to swim to bring my rod back from Kachwanuka lake! And my advice, never use mono, braid only .
