Hey Guys, quick question...

I am using a yellow braided line with a fluorocarbon leader so I don't spook the fish ( I am going after mostly large/smallmouth bass ).

I was wondering how long I should make the leader?

Any suggestions would be great.

One other thing....I will be fishing for spring pike up in Honey Harbour this year. Should I use a metal leader or is the fluorocarbon ok?

Thanks Guys,

Danno

If you are tying the fluorocarbon directly to your braid you could use a longer leader, say 5 or 6 foot. If you are going to use a swivel to connect your lines then I would go with a 3 foot leader. Many pike fishermen are now using 50 to 80 lb. test fluorocarbon as a leader instead of the old standard metal leaders.
