Anyone have any thoughts on leaving 1lb propane tanks twisted on to a Mr. Buddy Heater?

The heater takes 2 tanks, one on each side. Wondering if it's safe to just leave them both screwed in and only replace as needed, rather than unscrew each time I am done for the day and screw back on next time I need to.

I left mine on last season until they were empty and swapped then out and they worked fine without issues.

Which reminds me.. I still have them on there. Hopefully they haven't caused any stress to the system.

I do not have a Mr.Buddy Heater, I use a single burner cooking stove, and I leave the tanks on all the time. I would say your heater SHOULD be able to handle the tanks being attached all the time, My only thought is if the switch that turns the heater on. Can in be turn on easy?? I mean you do not want the switch to turn on at any odd time you may bump it or some other.... and use up all the propain.

I dusted off the big buddy yesterday and turned it on with the 1lbers still on from last season. No issues what so ever.

Liger, the know to turn it on isn't easily triggered so no accidental turn ons are possible with this one.

If you get a hose for it, you need a mr buddy filter hose or an inline filter
Depends which hose. The one I linked to, a fuel filter isn't required because of the regulator but it's only for the big buddy - unless that's what you meant by filter hose.

There are a number of other hoses available that do require it though.

I got the 10ft hose, looks exactly like the 5ft hose that CT carries. Only difference is the length, and that on the back of the box of the 10'er, it explicitly says "no fuel filter required".

Quoted for truth. Just jokin' around. Edited, since I haven't actually fished with you!
Don't feel bad- I have fished with him - and he's not up on current usage on what he calls the "interweb" !!

When I take the single cooker with my I normal take a small pot (800ml size) so I can boil some water for Hot cholcolet or instent noodles / noodles in a cup or hotdogs. and the last few years I have been fishing out of a 4x4 hut so its heats up fast. or I fish out of a 5x5 pop up and my buddy that owns it keeps in HOT in the dam thing, like t-shirt hot in -15C stuff. but I find the cooker doe burn more propain, I got though a green tank in 2 / 2.5 days, but then I do not need it very warm in my huts, my buddy can go through a 20 lbs tank in 3 days LOL
