Hey anyone know if the spit is open during the week... thinking of going on thursday if anyone wants to come!!

I'm not going to walk all the way to the spit to tell you, but I will look out my bus window while I'm on my way to school tomorrow. 8)

From my angle, I will see the lake from the DVP and Gardiner. Hope to report back good news.

The spit is not open to the public during the week but if u drive past it towards the plant u can fish the plant water discharge, good pike and there's some small browns there, ps it says no parking everywhere but nobody comes around

Water looks like it's not frozen if you are not in a protected area. You should be able to find fishable water in and around. Good luck!

so vicdeedee you mean the spot on UNWIN rd.. just south of the Toronto Marina im looking at google earth and i see a body of water btwn unwin and leslie st spit..... im talking about the spot close to the bridge... just west of it... do you mean there??

I was down at the Leslie Spit last weekend with a friend, hunting for pike. Didn't have much luck, and towards the end of our trip, we were starting to think about packing it in when I got a big strike on the 5 of diamonds spoon I was tossing. Managed to land the fish, which turned out to be a good sized rainbow (my first one).

Gonna probably try again this weekend now that the weather is heating up a bit more.

I just moved closer to the spit. Maybe I'll bike down there this weekend and soak a few lures.
