Long weekend camping suggestions?

G'day All:

Hope everyone is hooking into some runners. Personally, I've walked around Port Credit the other night to witness the throngs of Salmoners. I haven't wet a line in the Credit yet; I left my net at the cottage and don't want to be a hack trying to land a brute in the rocks, understandably a PP by some. Best of luck to you all.

My dilema is this: Me and the boys want to go camping this long weekend. Problem is, most are last-minuters and can't make a decision if it was to be their last, lol. So say roughly 3-5 people, a rowdy bunch. I'm looking for a campsite within 2-3hours of Toronto, decent fishing, possibility of a boat rental, and, foremost, no reservation needed. The idea is to drive up Friday night and lock a place up for the weekend. Provincial Parks are out because of the PP rules long weekend (we like to make noise, lol), lack of boat rentals, etc. So, if you can, please suggest a good place for camping. If you are iffy about putting up your holy grail, PMs are greatly appreciated.

No Provincial Parks and no reservations? I'm thinking maybe grab a crown land map and go crown land camping?

I always thought I was quite computer literate but this MNR site has me going in circles and getting no where. I was looking for free camping on crown land for up to 21 days. The site says what to to do if you are NOT a Canadian citizen.
I have a motor home I was looking to see if there was crown land I somewhere I could stop for a while and keeping with the regs move to another location. I have camped in Provincial Parks but they are not free.
I spoke to park wardens about the parks not being consistant with camping fees and told them that the website was all over the place and unclear as to what the rate for should be for the night. They told me they had difficulty following the website to get the proper information. When most of the P parks were still closed for the year those parks were charging the same rate for the end of April as they charge for July, which you would have thought July would be High season.

High Chalkhorse it is sort of a recent post, when I posted anyway lol

I know Long Pont is a provincial park but where are you permitted to camp FREE for up to 21 days and where can I find that information?

There's lots of crown land to camp on for free but I doubt there are many places that would accommodate a trailer. The camping I've done has been at paddle in sites---there are lots of those.

The "Crown Land Atlas" or whatever it's called is awkward to work with and will not show you campsites, IIRC..

Yes I finally figured it out with some help from youtube, it is pretty complicated but if you want some place all to yourself.
Yeah I wouldn't fancy driving down some old logging road only to find it was blocked only to have to reverse all the way out.
My hiking days are long gone I'm afraid...
 
I am not sure parking a motor home even constitutes camping so it may not even be allowed on crown land. This is all considering you can get the thing on crown land, It sure does suck paying to stop but an rv is sorta a luxury camping thing so it seems you have to pay that extra for things like stopping and your grey water ect.. It's less if you get a spot without a power outlet and stuff at the park and I think its less than an RV park. I used to stay in parks more than I do now I also don't like paying, I normally stay out of the fams cottage in haliburton or the hunt camp north of Timmins, places between I stay on crown land. Get far enough north and it wont be as big of a deal to park the tank,
