hey guys just have a couple questions (not to sure if this is the right area?)

looking for a new boat to keep at the cottage but also bring back home in my chevy express cargo van

looking at the sundolphin pro 102 which would fit in the back of my truck (toronto boat show has them on for $1200 from the kawartha boat depot booth next month)

only looking to put a trolling motor on it at the moment and it looks perfect for what i wanna do with it (troll for pike, or get it shallow and hammer them bass on top water lures)

my truck mesurements are 48 inches across and could possibly fit 60 inches if i slid it in on an angle, the length is 10 foot 8 with the doors shut and could prolly stretch it out if i tie the doors shut with rope

what are my best options? looking to spend up to $2000 on the boat itself

not to sure if the sundolphin pro is good on the body of water where my cottage is? severn falls is the town, our pontoon is on a boat lift for a reason, the waves from the boats going by can be pretty big at times

thanks guys

You can get some great deals on used aluminum boats trailer included.
I'd go that route for the money.
Put the word out on your lake that your interested in buying something.
You might get nicely surprised.
Good luck

My opinion - Buy a Pelican Bass Raider 10e!!!

It is 10 foot 2 and 48 inches wide - It would fit in the back of your van and let you close the doors - Rated for 600 lbs, motor mount on the front and back and it is only 145 pounds!

I own one and love it, suits the purpose you need it for perfectly. The pro 120 weighs like 250 pounds, but it does have all the extra bells and whistles which the raider does not.

They also have an 8 foot model but its only an extra couple hundred bucks for the 10 and those extra 24 inches come in handy.

looks so small compared to the 102, i know im pretty limited cause i wanna use the truck and not a trailer.

pretty much wanna troll with it, if i reach 5 mph that would be good enough to get me where i wanna go and fish

I didn't even notice you said 102, just assumed you referred to the 120 - the pimped out one.

The 102 is in my opinion not worth it. The bass raider would fit lying down the 102 would be diagonal if it fits. They are the same length. The 102 is pretty much only good for 1 person or 1 person and a tiny person. I've had almost 700 pounds on my bass raider (capacity 600) and it was fine. Also with a 40-55 lb thrust motor you'll go plenty fast for trolling.

Just my opinion as someone who asked the same thing 2 years ago and did a lot of research before picking the bass raider, take it for what it is.

I would rather side with everyone else and say just go get a used boat/trailer before I'd suggest the 102

I got mine on kijiji - 375 used and in mostly great condition - there was a small crack on the rim on one corner, purely cosmetic damage

You can get the 8 foot for sure from west marine in Oakville - when I was looking they were 499.99 plus tax

If you go to academy in NY you can get it for $599-799 - depending on if they have a sale going or not.

Your best bet in still kijiji though - just don't pay more than 500, if someone tells you different let them hang on to it until they come back down to earth.

Bass Pro I think gets a few of the 10 footers every year
