Looking for an October Muskie Spot

Greetings all,

looking to take a long weekend somewhere and camp with the fiance. We have never fished for Muskie before and I am looking for a spot we can pitch a tent, dock our boat and spend some time looking for muskie. I prefer to cast for them instead of troll. Anyone have any recommendations?

Which area are you thinking about fishing ? There are a couple lakes in the Kawartha's that might work for you .

I guess I should have added that. We are near Toronto and were hoping to stay within a 3 hour drive.
Has anyone been to Balsam lake? Is that any good? Anyone know if I can dock my boat at the provincial park boat launch?

I was also reading about the moon river but haven't found alot of information on a place to leave my boat.
