You should try Island Lake @ Orangeville.

TRIED THERE LAST YEAR,LOTS OF LITTLE PIKE THE BIGGEST I CAUGHT WAS 26 INCHES, AND THE BASS SEEM TO BE 1-2 LBS AT THE MOST, I'M LOOKING TO GO BIGGER

You can get 5 pouders in Scougog.

now thats what im talking about. i was looking at the lake on a map and it looks oddball shaped, are you good to go anywhere or is there areas to avoid?

Scugog ison the most part;very weedy & very shallow lake. If you dont know the area take care!
But it does have some kick ass fishing....5lb bass, 3lb+ pics and 40"+ Muskie!!! Not to mention crappie and perch, big carp and the odd cat.
Watch the regulations, and the bottom of the lake!

Scugog is on the list this year as I've caught bass & muskie there before do you know of any public launch points? last time I went we rented a boat. I was told that the locals are not fans of ppl outside of town fishing there making launching and parking difficult not sure if there is any truth in that?

go to mountsberg cons area, that lake is loaded with big bass and pike.

you could try finding places near you.like the grand river and lake Ontario sometimes have better fishing than far away lakes

you can catch 5 pounders in island lake, GUARENTEED! It's catch and release, so all the big fish that are caught are put back, maybe a 6 or 7 pounder swimming around to. also, i know a guy who hook and boated a 37 inch pike there, so noone should be saying there are no fish in that lake. Island lake is a great fishing hole!

Is Island lake still good? I went there once and never caught anything. do you know if they allow you to launch a boat before bass season opens? if you say your just fishing for pike?
