Good Day,
I was wondering if someone can share some fishing areas for the whitefish in Simcoe. I am quite new to this and Simcoe looks intimidating with such huge area to cover. Also if you can suggest some good lures, that would be awesome!
Thanks and good luck on the water

Just look for the pack of boats in about 60 ft of water. That is the easiest way to find them. Make sure you have a fish finder as you might have to follow the schools around. The best place to launch would be at sibald point park and as for bait a jigging spoon or pretty much anything you would use while ice fishing. Be careful I wouldn't try this unless you have a big enough boat cause when simcoe turns watch out it can be one scary ride in a small boat.

Thanks Chosen,
yea, Simcoe is not the calmest lake around. I have a 16 foot aluminum, so always check the weather and wind before heading out. :)
as far as color is concern, would something standard like yellow/ red diamonds work?
and one more question, should I be fishing off the bottom - drop it and raise it few feet and drop it again?
Appreciate responses.

As for color green yellow and black are my go to colors as well as a good old silver spoon and yes I work the bottom. Normally I would let it sit on bottom and give it a violent jerk upwards and let it float back down but like always I experiment until I find what the fish want to see.
