I've heard that Marie Curtis park is a good spot for carp but I have had no luck there lately. I went the last 2 mornings from 5:30am to about 8am to no avail. I chummed the area with some corn then left out my own line with about 4 pieces of corn on the hook, not even a bite all day. Has anyone had success at Marie Curtis park recently? I was at the very end of the river, close to the mouth of Lake Ontario.

Are you putting the corn directly on the hook? If so you should try a hair rig. You can search hair rig on youtube and you will find lots of videos of how to make them, its quite easy and will increase your hookups 10 fold.

Thanks il be sure to check it out!
Have you ever tried marie curtis btw?

never heard of it. what is the water clarity like? if it is more clear you may be able to walk around the pond and spot out the spots that the carp are schooling.

for the hair rig this video is good. you just basically make a loop at the bottom and snell the hook with the loop varying distances away from the hook, maybe between 3/4" and 1.5" and but a threader and a pack of those little dumbell plastic stoppers.

I've made a few trips to Lake O river mouths this week in search of bass, pike and muskie. This has been a very slow week, I only saw one bass. Last week, the baitfish were in close to the mouths, as were the bass, muskie, pike and carp. The carp were taking flies off the surface last week, the water was very clear and the baitfish were likely after flies too. Lots of seagulls and other aquatic birds were diving after the baitfish. The other night I didn't see any birds. No birds, no game fish, no carp.

Lake Ontario is huge, there's many places for fish to go, and fishing the rivermouths will not always be a sure bet for all species. Catfish and gobies, on the other hand, seem to always be present <_<
