Hey Chibi,

I know you would agree, but I have sooo many stories... my latest one though is taking my 3yr old nephew to the "pay as you go" trout pond (just north of Uxbridge).

We cought a bunch of rainbow trout... cost me about 50$, but watching him run around with the net screaming you got another one? you got another one??? I'll net it...I'll net it... he was so proud of the fish we caught ...good times for sure..

I can't wait to take my son fishing too... he's only 6 months old right now.....

Hey Chibi
can u give us address of this pond.I would also like to take my nephew.the $50 u paid ,did u take all trout u caught home or released back.how big is the trout there.thx

Hey idesign.. .that was me that posted about the fishing pond... I can't remember the name.. but it's basically about 15 mins north of Uxbridge...the guy has a few ponds in the back woods.. it's a pretty nice spot.. he has a few picnic tables and BBQ's if you want to bring some hot dogs..

you basically fish for stocked rainbows.. you have to keep what you catch and it's 7.50 per trout. no matter the size. they average about 12-16 inches..

You can also fish for big bass in a different pond, but that one is catch and release only... you pay 60$(I think).. and fish all day.. but you have to put everything back....I've always done the trout pond personally..

There is spot just North of Markham too,, I think that one is called Byrd's fishing.. it's right on hwy 48. he has way more ponds, but there are way more people too.. and you pay by the pound instead of by the fish... however.. they do clean the fish for you and send you on your way with a bunch of nice trout on ice..

it's a pretty good way to spend an afternoon.. and with pretty much guaranteed success, it's a good place to take the younger kids..

When i think about memorable experiences fishing, I always relate it to fishing with someone like the first time one of my son's caught his first fish or having a successful excursion with my dad.

as with all of us... every outing is a special memory. when i was younger, we took a family trip to kingston to visit some family friends for a week. we were rite on the shore of lake ontario, and i remember everyday we could, me and my brother had my dad take us down to the pier and go fishing for whatever we could catch, usually perch. on 1 day we begged to go, it was miserable out, raining hrd out, massive winds, 6 foot waves, but we were determined to get out fishing, so we went, well wouldn;t u know it, my brother caught the biggest perch i have ever seen in my life. was easily 2lbs + that was the only fish that day... but it was yummy! lol. my other memory is the first time i took my son fishing. he was just 2 years old, but so excited to go. we got him a rod and reel, some tackle and off we went. his first ever fish was a goby. he caught 3 of them, my god he was so proud. i;ll never forget the smile on his face when he caught them. and the look of terror when as he was reeling in a goby, a huge largemouth bass came out and tried to eat his goby as he reeled it in. it was funny. then of course, tryin to explain to a 2 year old why i was throwing the gobies into the bush and not the water afterwards was interesting. he now knows them as... "bad fishies" lol.

haha...cool stories.
i can imagine how difficult it would be to explain the invasive gobies to a someone so young.

thanks for sharing your stories everyone

i agree it's quite sweet when the youngins get into it
the excitement that grows on their faces is priceless =)

I too had an amazing day at a trout farm with my wife. We got tired of not catching anything in Burlington and decided to try a place near burlington called fish4trout. they have a good site by the way. We arrived at 7am even though they didnt open until 8am because we were soooo excited. My wife had he brand new rod and tackle and was ready to go, 8am came along and no one was around then 8:30, finally i banged on the door of the house that over looks the ponds a reallly hung over teenager came to the door and was shiocked to see anyone their.
I toldnhim we had been waiting since 7am and wanted to fish catch and release and possibly keep a couple toward the end of the day. He told me since we had waiting $25 each and we could fish all day, and $5 a fish if we chose to keep them. It was an amazing day and the owners of the propertie finally came home and made sure we had bait and even let their family dog keep us company, we were the only ones on the pond al day, and we caguth easily 50 fish each. My wife was sooo excited becuase the fish she was catching were actually clean and beautiful.
It was and amazing day, and I'll never forget it.
by the way it was very early spring and was quite cold, but it was sooo worth it.

that's adorable! glad to know you two had such a successful outting! not to mention it's sweet you two got to fish alone =).

your wifey fishes with mittens. i do too sometimes hahaha.

lol, ya chibi shes afraid of touching them, lol. Says its yucky, lol but i wont let our little one have the same bad habit, lol.
She doesnt put he worms on or take off her fish but she always seems to outcatch anyone around. But thankfully we got a quite day alone and it was an awesome day to say the least.
That was the first fish she ever held up for the camera usaully she will kneel close to it but they would flip and flap and she would scream, lol.
Lots of fun for sure.

haha thats the same with my wife...no worms and no fish...i have to do everything. my theory is that she out fishes you because you spend more time setting up and less time fishing, but thats just me.

LMAO, i have said the same thing, but i'm just glad she enjoys fishing and if it takes me setting her up everytime so be it. Its nice to have the wife as a fishing partner when you can. All the guys at RBG see her coming and they laugh and say, mine as well pack er in boys shes here. Seems like everytime i take her their she outfish's everyone, lol.
