If you have to revive a fish that long it's likely brain dead.

Even if it swims away after a while, it has little hope, especially in moving water scenarios.

If it can't swim away under its own power right away, you have harmed it and should keep it.

guess all those fish that were revived at the bowmanville dam project were a waste of time then.

every fish is different, some take longer than other to recover, depending on how fast you get them in

We go fishing. We like to fish. That guy does things different then you, but that's okay, cause your righteous in your own mind.

The funny part about all this, "don't hurt the fish, by means of over exauation, handling, Gil raking, or putting them on the bank" is that we literally torture them for the sake of our own entertainment. Driving a sharp hook into the side of there mouth and dragging them in by putting extreme tension on an open wound we created. Imagin having your lip pierced and someone tying a rope to it and pulling you all over the place.
And the over exhaustion thing. Landing a steelhead is difficult enough... Landing a 12+ is just hard, especially when they're full of energy. We're exhausting them no matter what.

Anyways! You're all right in your own mind like I've said before, just get the f... Along, we're all brothers!!! Teach people, if they choose to absorb your teachings, then wicked, if not... You tried

i certainly hope you didn't take this picture yourself while fighting the fish. That would have meant you were playing it for some time...

seriously ??? you flame the guy because he kept fish in the water extra 3 seconds to take a photo.

how long you kept the fish out of the water to get this picture?

not sure what you're argument is here GT, but its a hell of lot better than what most bass anglers do to their catch, set the hook so hard it almost breaks the rod, then rip it out of the weeds by said hook, with 50lb braid, then flip it from the water and have it flop around on the bottom of the boat for 30 while you try to get it under control.

i'd rather have a fish that i can control when i get it to the bank, or boat, then have it flopping around possibly causing injury to itself or me or broken gear, hell i've spent 5-10 minutes on my knees in the water reviving 30lb salmon to go do their thing

come on now dont beat up on the bass guys. I'll admit jig fishing is my favorite style of fishing, I love to flip and punch into heavy cover and winch them out but I never keep fish and I always return them to the water quickly.

Its just look float said, all in all we're not doing the fish a service by catching them but we enjoy it and its good fun.
