As a kid I used to head down to Mississauga's Lakefront Promenade by the old 4 sisters. We used to spend hours fishing at night reeling in 1- 3 lb smallies. Sometime ago they built water parks and boardwalks and it killed the place. Life got busy and I also got a boat, so there was no need to fish on shore there anymore.

Last night I picked up a Shimano Stratic reel and Abu Vendetta rod. I couldn't sleep all night, so I slipped it into my car knowing I had a meeting in the morning on Lakeshore right near the promenade. After the meeting I decided to head down for a few casts. It appears there are fish there again by the marina. I hooked up a 4 lb pike on a little spinner. How fun is that for a lunch break?

Forgot to add...that fish snapped my rod (brand new rod killed by the first fish). I ended up landing it on a snapped rod and promptly returned it tonight.

was it an ultralite rod or something? I dont think I could snap any of my rods on a 4lb pike if I tried.

I think being the first ever fish caught on this rod, it would have been a manufacturing fault. It really snapped without warning right at one of the eyelets. Bass Pro had no issues taking it back or exchanging it.

I hate divulging my secret holes, but I guess this is the purpose of this forum...I typically fish inland at the public marina. There are two marinas as you go in, park at the first and go through to the boats. On the east side of the marina there is anrock embankment surrounding a shallower pool of almost murky water. If you see baitfish, a pretty good sign something else is swimming in there. Best luck I have had is walking out on the rock embankment that separates the pool from the more open waters of the marina. This embankment parallels a boardwalk (you cannot fish from the boardwalk).

Hope this works:

Sorry I didn't mean to ask for exact spots, specific spots are not the point of the forum.
I just wanted to know where really because I've went there before and caught nothing.
Just want to know in general where people can fish at this park.

In this pic , when you say rock ambankment are you referring to 2?
I've fished from 2 before and more north at this park that's not shown on this map(shallow here).

Pike hide in the boats, I've seen them in the past, just couldn't get to them back then. I've fished from 1 and caught nothing too.

I caught my guy from the end of the rock embankment at 3. I've caught both pike and smallies. If you go at feeding time the bigguns come in for food.

I have a boat and would love to work both sides of 2. I've tried three times this summer to get at it, but once my stubborn fishing buddy just wanted to troll, a second time something happened to my trolling motor and one time we went out late and were held up on the water with the marine unit for 30 minutes (they killed the hour I had).

No need to apologize, I just thought others may wanna know a real easily accessible spot. Not everyone has a boat or even wheels to get at some of the prime fishin holes. I hope other share their spots too.

There are always smallies to be had at the park - good ol' jig head and grub used to get down deep.

Thanks for the update chimmys. I've been fishing some other spots around there catching bass catfish and occasional trout but never tried the inside area of the marina. Will I need a net to land fish at this spot?

I tried here the other day and didn't catch anything, I was casting a Vibrax ,worms weren't catching anything also. I was fishing on the part past the bridge where it's high up from the water, the eastern part of the park.
I probably need to fish different spots and try different lures/baits as I've never caught anything from here.
