With recent flooding in the area, the water level in Rice Lake went up quite drastically a couple of weeks back as the locks were opened and water poured in. Needless to say, this old dog got taught a few new tricks as the bite was extremely slow. The rising water levels moved the bass shallower into cover and onto structure. Spots that held bass in previous weeks were not producing. Also the big bass seemed to have disappeared but the action with the small sized fish was great.

Nice that first one is a biggie, got these the other day shore fishing on the conestoga. Caught a few others too, using these new smaller tube jigs is really producing for me.

Sorry for the crap pictures if someone can please explain to me how to upload pictures that arent displayed bigger than by computer screen that would be much appreciated....until then I guess its just thembnails for my pics lol.

I recommend getting a photobucket account, automatically resizes pics and allows you to embed them right into the post.

I used to call it the Conestoga River too, Conestoga is just easier to say than Conestogo.

Way to go diggler and nado!! Great to see more fish coming into the boat!! We went out yesterday and the weather was crazy. 10 minutes of pouring rain followed by cloudy light rain for 10 minutes, followed by sun for 10 minutes. Repeat for entire day...lol
Still we ended up with maybe 3 dozen smaller bass, biggest being 2 pounds and 2 decent 4lb pike. Cant complain!!

I gotta try Rice out. I booked this comming week of work, so hoping for some decent weather and I can find a decently priced guy to rent me a boat and I'm going for it.

Your thinking of the town conestogo, the river is conestoga river.
