So I managed to swing by the lake again after work, and it definitely did not disappoint. When I got there, I had a lot of company in geese, ducks, an osprey, the infamous beaver from my vid, and this fellow:

I tossed on an olive bugger, and first cast had a nice rainbow on. For the first time ever, my fly-line got wrapped around my GoPro chest mount, which gave the fish just enough slack to get off.

Tonnes of surface activity again tonight, with no interest in the bugger whatsoever (CC, eat your heart out :p), but I did manage to see what the trout were sipping on. A recent fly I tied (just screwing around at the bench, really) happened to look a little like the flies hatching, so I thought "what the hell" and tied it on.

First cast with this guy, and BAM another fish on.

Great fight, great fish, great times!

Man that's a sweet looking fish congrats and that's a cool looking fly
Thanks Mad! If you're ever in the area, give me a holler and I can take you to the lake :p

Drop dead gorgeous fish. Matched the forage and was rewarded. Doesn't get any better than that.

Thanks Dozer! I've seen them sipping the last few trips out, but today was the first day I was actually able to see what it was they were eating. Great feeling indeed!

Wow what a beautiful fish! Did you use the gopro for those pics too or just for the vids?
GoPro has just been used for vids so far - use my Canon for the photos :)

More fish!

I went 1 for 3 today... not my greatest odds, but got (i think) some cool GoPro footage and a few pics (turned out a bit blurry this time). This guy was caught on my very first attempt at a stone bugger:

I'll be going out again tomorrow and Sunday, and my goal is to take the GoPro footage from those days and some I took a few days ago to make another small video for YouTube. I'll definitely share that once it's done :)

Awesome, making me wish I had brought my gear up to Ottawa this weekend, so I could hit that area on the drive back.

Have you checked any of the rivers around there lately? Are they down to a normal flow yet or still raging?

Was at one earlier last week and the water levels were still VERY high.. Thinking about checking one of 'em out this weekend so maybe I can let ya know!

More from today:

These guys hate performing for the GoPro though. ZERO action today until all 3 of my batteries died. Then out of nowhere, they start biting lol
