Can you guys suggest a good, sturdy telescopic or folding landing net? Need to be able to shrink the net down a bit to bring it with me onto the subway and bus. Rubber mesh and wide mouth prefered. Will be using it for carp and bass mostly. Budget is around $50.

Thanks

Hmmm, I've got a Lucky Strike something or rather from Sail for around 20 bucks - would be too small for carp but I've used it for steelhead and it works just fine. Its got a reach of just over 3 feet and the handle is collapsible. They had the same net but slightly larger there too. No complaints about mine except for the fact that it has plastic components.

Is it the black rubber net one? fairly shallow net? more or less a cradle style net?

Yup - great little net. Was gonna grab the larger one but at this size its easy to handle when making your own path through the forest. Slide it between my nap sac and my back and I'm ready to deploy into the battlefield. Hopefully NADO will chime in, he's got a rockin' net.

I have the same one, worked wonders for steel head, perfect size and strength. Next year I am sure we wont be using nets as Ash has learned to tail fish.

I tied that net to the loop on my vest and tucked it between my back and the vest, worked very well for wading as well the cord is an elestic style.

I am sure a carp would bed the frame on that net tho! LOL
